Journal of another adventurer

Dragon’s Lou

Greetings fellow adventurer for coming this far. These swamps are trecherous, lurking

under the green mantle, pretending to be solid ground.

You’ll certainly won’t make THAT mistake again, stepping into those mudholes.

Holy creeps! a whole lot of bugs probably swim in my fur right now! Wisest would be to avoid these lands all together. By reading this journal, I guess you made the same mistake as I did, so I might as well tell you more of what you can expect in Dragon's Lou.

These are the peaceful lands of Dragon’s Lou, found deep within the dense moss covered forests, with hillocks and horsetails tall as trees. Their bare branches stretching out like claws in the air, leaving a haunting shadow when the darkness makes it entrance at dawn.

When finally reaching the tribes village, it will be obvious they live a simple, easy life. And they won’t even let you in at night because of their suspicious nature. Yes! It’s absolutely chilling at night. No place to sleep will be offered for those who comes from the outside. Like if they where some secret tribe of some sorts? They call their lifestyle “The Nature’s Way”, whatever that means…

If you are eager to stay against all odds, you’ll simply find yourself a peaceful life here if you manage to gain their trust, though. You certainly need to put in some hard work to gain that privilege. These folks are friendly, even if they are quite suspicious people.

However, if it’s the exciting life you are seeking for, this is just not the place for you. Somehow, I can’t get rid of the feeling that something ancient lurks in the fog… but that isn’t anything anyone here seems to have noticed by the villagers which is really odd. Pay a visit to the relinquished stone garden and see yourself.

…Or, maybe I just got too bored and needed that little dust of excitement.

It is however fascinating that they so rarely encounter danger. And the fears. those who hunts us coldblooded, they are simply not present here. Even they thought this place to be unbearable... Haha.

Have you seen the dragons up in sky? It’s the magic of the dragonflies up there who keep the fears from their lands and let the peace remain. Harmony can sustain that way, it is said by these folks. And so, they pray to the holy spirit who protects their lands. Have you ever seen a dragonfly yet? It is a rare creature who flies high and low. It looks like they are swimming, in the air, with their giant wings. So strange. They seem to be friendly creatures, but you wouldn’t believe that if you saw one, considering how large and fearsome they look on a closer look.

If you look down, then there’s a golden treasure to be found; the cloudberries! They are bright as embers. There are fields of them to be found. If you are the ambitous business type, then you probably want to pick some, but don’t fall into that trap, you’ll realise they turned into a yellowish slush when you are ready to go home. that is a true defenition of a shallow beauty, or a greedy desire of wealth, hehe. I’ll tell you, This place is playing tricks on you. The cloudberries is traditionally made as drinks here, so they do have a purpose. Some are fermented as powerdrinks. I never got the chance to try them out, though.

…On second thought, I did see a grey one the other day carrying jars with cloudberries around here. He certainly wasn’t from here. Would like to see his face when he notice that his pretty berries are all slushed up in his jars some hours later. What a sight to behold watching that reaction at his face! Hehe…

My ink is running out… Bringing things to conclusion, Dragon’s Lou is a home of peace and stillness. However, rarely a place of the adventurous kind. A place for a good rest it surely is, if you are fond of sleeping under the bare branches with the buzzing sounds of mosqitous then you’ve come just right.

Best Regards to whoever who you are
